You’re a startup and need an MVP.We build the core first.

A clearly scoped MVP with one core process and few roles is usually ready for use within a few weeks. Before the first line of production code you see a clickable prototype.

01

The situation

The idea is there, maybe you already have early interest or a pitch coming up – but no product anyone can see or test yet. The feature list is long; time and budget are not.

The typical trap: wanting everything at launch. The most common reason app projects fail is exactly that – a first version that is too big.

02

Our solution

We scope your product to an MVP: first the core process that solves the most important problem. Features are prioritised by impact and effort; everything else moves to a later stage. The data model, roles and interfaces are fixed before any application code is written.

After each development stage there is a working version to test. For most products a web app is enough; native makes sense when the camera, sensors or the App Store are part of the business model. Code, data and documentation belong to you – we put that in writing before the project starts.

Process & details

Our MVP strategy in four steps:

  1. 01Discovery
  2. 02Scoping
  3. 03Architecture
  4. 04Iteration

During the concept phase, plan for about half a day a week from the person who knows the product best. For the launch website, a landing page is often enough – with a clear scope it’s online in seven days. KULIMO offers a social tariff with reduced rates for newly founded businesses.

Questions from search

Frequently asked questions

  • How much does MVP development cost?

Flat prices wouldn’t be honest – the effort depends on the number of workflows, roles, interfaces and offline capability. After discovery and MVP scoping you receive a fixed quote with no hidden items.

  • How long does it take to build an MVP?

A clearly scoped MVP with one core process and few roles is usually ready for use within a few weeks. For a first productively used web app stage we plan six to twelve weeks.

  • Which companies in Berlin help build new digital products?

KULIMO is an owner-led digital product studio in Berlin that builds web apps, native apps and websites – from discovery to operation.

  • Do we own the source code?

Yes. Code, data and documentation belong to you; we put that in writing before the project starts. There’s no licence that expires and no key we keep.

  • Web app or native app for the MVP?

For most products a web app is enough and far more economical. Native pays off when the camera, sensors or background processes are central, or when store distribution is part of the business model.
