Dental and medical practice web design: online booking, mandatory disclosures done right.

Clear information, easy booking.

KULIMO builds websites for dental practices, doctors’ offices, and group practices: with online booking through your provider, a careers page for dental assistants (ZFA) and medical assistants (MFA), a legal notice (Impressum) that follows the DDG (Digital Services Act, Germany’s Digitale-Dienste-Gesetz) and professional regulations, content within the limits of the HWG (Heilmittelwerbegesetz, Germany’s Therapeutic Products Advertising Act), privacy-compliant forms, and accessibility to WCAG 2.1 AA. Who visits your website

Three visitors, three questions

Every answer saves a phone call.

The phone at the front desk keeps ringing because the website doesn’t answer the simple questions. A good practice website takes those calls off your team’s plate.

01

New patients

“Are you accepting new patients, when can I get an appointment, how do I get there, is the practice accessible?” Answer: online booking, directions, accessibility, services.

02

Existing patients

“Are you open today, how do I request a prescription or a referral, when are you on vacation?” Answer: current hours, notices, clear paths.

03

Job applicants

“Do I want to work here?” Answer: a careers page with the team, working hours, continuing education, and an application that takes two minutes on a smartphone.

Building blocks

What a medical practice website needs

Online booking

Your booking provider — such as Doctolib, jameda, or Dr. Flex — cleanly integrated and loaded only after consent. The button sits where patients look for it.

Factual service pages

Treatments explained clearly, without promises of cure and without promotional superlatives — as the professional code of conduct and the HWG allow.

Team and practice

Real photos of your team and premises instead of stock images. Patients want to know who will be treating them — that builds trust before the first visit.

Careers page

Openings for dental assistants (ZFA, ZMP, ZMV) or medical assistants (MFA), with structured data for Google for Jobs and a short application from a smartphone.

Get found locally

Google Business Profile with office hours, services, and photos, consistent practice details everywhere, and pages that match “dentist + district.”

Forms without risk

Contact and prescription forms that ask only for the essentials — no free-text fields for diagnoses, and with encrypted transmission.

Legal

Mandatory disclosures and advertising law for practices

Healthcare professions face stricter rules than other industries. We build the mandatory disclosures in as fixed components and pay attention to the limits of advertising law in your content. That does not replace a case-by-case review by your chamber or a lawyer — we do not provide legal advice.

Legal notice (Impressum) under § 5 DDGFor physicians and dentists, the legal notice must include, in addition to name, address, and contact details, the responsible chamber, the statutory professional title along with the country in which it was conferred, the professional regulations with a reference to where they can be found, and the responsible supervisory authority — for practices accredited by statutory health insurance, also the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians or Dentists (KV/KZV).
Dispute resolutionPractices with more than ten employees must state whether they take part in consumer dispute resolution proceedings. The link to the EU online dispute resolution (ODR) platform that used to be standard is no longer needed: the platform was shut down on July 20, 2025.
Professional code of conductFactual, profession-related information is permitted; promotional, misleading, or comparative advertising is not. For physicians, this is governed by § 27 of the Model Professional Code (Musterberufsordnung); for dentists, by the professional code of the respective state dental chamber — including rules on stated areas of focus (Tätigkeitsschwerpunkte).
Heilmittelwerbegesetz (§ 11 HWG)Case histories, patient testimonials, and depictions of changes to the body must not be abusive, repellent, or misleading. For operative plastic surgery procedures, advertising with before-and-after images is prohibited.

Privacy & accessibility

Health data deserves special care

  • Ask only for the essentials: Health data is specially protected under Art. 9 GDPR. That is why forms do not ask for symptoms or diagnoses in free text.
  • Encrypted transmission: Forms run over HTTPS; health data should only be sent by email with end-to-end encryption.
  • Booking providers with consent: Booking widgets load only after consent; we factor the privacy policy and the agreements with the provider into the plan.
  • Hosting in Germany, tracking only with consent: no analytics tools that collect data without consent.
  • Accessibility: Many patients are older or have impairments. We build to WCAG 2.1 AA. Whether the BFSG (Germany’s Accessibility Strengthening Act) applies to practices with online booking is disputed — building accessibly is the safe choice either way.

From the portfolio

Honestly labeled

For healthcare providers, our portfolio shows concept work — explicitly labeled as concepts, so you know what is a client project and what is a study: for example, a website for medical beauty and an orthodontic supply retailer.

We describe in detail what practice websites need to deliver today in our guide Web Design for Dentists 2026.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about web design for practices

How much does a website for a dental or medical practice cost?

At KULIMO, websites start at a fixed price of €1,270. According to our pricing overview, a business website for practices with local SEO and Google Business Profile costs €3,500–7,000. We quote the fixed price after the free intro call.

What mandatory information belongs in a practice’s legal notice?

In addition to name, address, and contact details: the responsible chamber, the statutory professional title and the country in which it was conferred, the professional regulations with a reference to where they can be found, and the responsible supervisory authority — for practices accredited by statutory health insurance, also the KV or KZV. Your chamber’s requirements are authoritative.

Can you integrate our booking provider?

Yes. We integrate providers such as Doctolib, jameda, or Dr. Flex so that the widget loads only after consent, and we factor the required information into the privacy policy.

Can we show patient reviews or before-and-after images?

With caution. The Heilmittelwerbegesetz prohibits abusive or misleading patient testimonials and depictions; for operative plastic surgery procedures, before-and-after images are prohibited in advertising. We plan content so that it stays factual and, when in doubt, recommend a review by your chamber or a lawyer.

How do you handle health data in forms?

We ask only for what is needed to get in touch — no free-text fields for symptoms or diagnoses — transmit it encrypted, and host in Germany.

Does a practice website have to be accessible?

Whether the BFSG applies to practices with online booking is disputed. We build to WCAG 2.1 AA regardless — many patients benefit from it, and you are on the safe side.

Does the website help with hiring?

Yes, if the careers page publishes open positions with structured data for Google for Jobs, gives real insight into the team, and lets people apply from a smartphone in two minutes.

How long does it take to launch?

Two to eight weeks, depending on scope and on when copy and photos are delivered. We set the date in the quote.
